Inlays & Onlays
An alternative to fillings, dental inlays and onlays are used to replace parts of the tooth that have become damaged due to decay or wear and tear. They are stronger and can last longer than fillings, and are usually added to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth.
What are Inlays and Onlays made of?
Inlays and onlays are made from either gold, resin, or porcelain, depending on your choice, and are designed specifically for you.
Where and how are they attached?
Inlays and Onlays are mostly for the back teeth, proving extra support for molars that have become damaged. They are fitted within the corners of the natural tooth or bonded over the tooth corners.
Do I need Inlays or Onlays?
If your back teeth have become damaged, either through an accident or due to decay or wear, then inlays and onlays may work for you. Your dentist will be able to advise you further.
